Who we are
Skywhale Swimming Academy Sdn Bhd operates this website (skywhaleswim.com) and two swimming campuses in Malaysia: Ara Damansara, Selangor and Puchong Jaya, Selangor. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Skywhale Swimming Academy.

What personal data we collect
We collect only what we need to arrange swimming lessons and to keep children safe in the water:
- Contact details — parent or guardian name, phone number, WhatsApp number and email address, given when you enquire, book a free trial class, or register.
- Student details — the child’s name, date of birth, swimming level, medical or health information relevant to safety in the pool, and emergency contact details.
- Lesson records — attendance, assessment results, coach remarks and progress photos or videos taken during class, where you have given consent.
- Payment records — package purchased, amount paid and receipt. We do not store full card numbers; card payments are handled by our payment provider.
- Website data — pages visited, device and browser type, and approximate location, collected through cookies and analytics as described below.
How we use it
- To answer your enquiry and arrange a free trial class or a lesson booking.
- To run classes safely, including making coaches aware of medical conditions you tell us about.
- To track your child’s progress and share assessments with you.
- To process payments and issue receipts.
- To send you class reminders, schedule changes and information about our programmes. You can ask us to stop at any time.
- To meet our legal, accounting and insurance obligations.
Cookies and analytics
This website uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are necessary for the site to work. Others help us understand how visitors use the site and measure the performance of our advertising.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The website will still work, but some measurement will be incomplete.
- Google Analytics — anonymous statistics about page visits and site usage.
- Google Ads — measures whether a visit came from one of our ads and whether the visitor contacted us afterwards.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram) — measures the performance of our advertising on those platforms.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:
- Our coaches and centre staff, so far as they need it to teach and to keep your child safe.
- Service providers who operate our systems on our behalf, including our class management system, payment provider, accounting software and messaging tools. They may process data only on our instructions.
- Government authorities, auditors or insurers where we are required to do so by law.
Photographs and videos
We sometimes take photographs or short videos in class, for progress assessment and for our social media and marketing. We ask for your consent before using any image of your child publicly, and you may withdraw that consent at any time by messaging us. Withdrawing consent does not affect your child’s place in class.
How long we keep it
We keep student and lesson records for as long as your child is enrolled and for up to seven years afterwards, which is the period we must retain accounting and insurance records under Malaysian law. Enquiry records from people who never enrol are kept for up to two years.
How we protect it
Access to our systems is limited to staff who need it, protected by individual accounts and passwords. Our class management system and website are hosted with reputable providers, and data is transmitted over encrypted connections.
Your rights
Under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Malaysia) you have the right to ask us to:

- confirm what personal data we hold about you and your child, and give you a copy;
- correct anything that is inaccurate or out of date;
- stop using your data for marketing messages;
- limit how we process your data, or delete it where we are not required to keep it.
Children
Our classes are for children and adults, and we deal with a parent or legal guardian for every student under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from a child without a parent’s involvement.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date below and, where the change is significant, tell you directly.
