Free Trial Swimming Class Near You: What Happens Before, During and After (Ara Damansara & Puchong)
A free trial swimming class should tell you two things: whether your child is comfortable with the coach and the water, and whether the academy is going to pay attention to your child after you sign up. At Skywhale Swimming Academy, the trial is the first step of a structured relationship between you, your child and a dedicated consultant — the fourth of our four pillars. Who Can Book a Free Trial?
Everyone. The free trial is offered across every class type — baby (from 6 months), kiddie, learn to swim (6–12), and adult (13+). Complete beginners are welcome; so are children moving from another academy who need a level placement.
Before the Trial: Your Consultant Explains How We Teach
When you book, you are assigned a personal consultant — not a rotating front desk. Before your child gets in the water, your consultant introduces Skywhale’s teaching philosophy: why Water Survival Skills are in every level, why groups are small (Kiddie 1:3, Beginner 1:4, Intermediate 1:5, Advanced 1:6), and what “Fun, Safe, Effective” means in practice. You should walk in knowing what a good class looks like, so you can judge ours.
During the Trial: The Coach Observes, the Head Coach Supervises
Your child joins a real class with an SSI-certified coach, in a salt-water pool heated to 32°C. During the session the coach is doing two jobs: teaching, and observing your child’s current level, comfort and the skills they already have. A Head Coach supervises the class, as at every Skywhale class. You watch from the air-conditioned lounge through the glass or on the live CCTV screen — or, for baby levels, from in the water with your child.
After the Trial: Feedback First, Then You Decide
Right after the class, the coach gives you feedback on what they observed — where your child is now, which level they would start at, and what the first few weeks would focus on. Then it is your decision. There is no obligation to sign up on the day.

Is the trial swimming class really free?
Yes. There is no charge for the trial class, and no obligation to sign up afterwards.
What should we bring to a free trial swimming class?
Swimwear and a towel; for baby levels, a swim diaper. Both branches provide hot showers, lockers, shower gel and hair dryers, and Puchong has a Baby Changing Station.
Which package do we join after the trial?
Your consultant will recommend based on the coach’s feedback. Options include the Baby 8+1 package (once a week, 11 weeks’ validity, MC extension allowed), the 4-Lesson Weekday package, and the Term package — all with slot-based replacement classes. Current prices are on the Schedule and Fees page.
