Swimming Classes in KL & Selangor: A Klang Valley Family’s Guide
Looking for a swimming class in KL or Selangor? Two Branches Serving the Whole Klang Valley
Skywhale is not a franchise with a pool in every suburb — and that is deliberate. We run two purpose-built indoor swim campuses and put everything into teaching quality instead of headcount: every coach is trained inside the SSI (Swim Schools International) system under a certified SSI Teacher Instructor, beginner classes are capped at 4 students per coach, and every child’s progress is tracked with video assessments reviewed by our Head Coach.
The result shows up where it can’t be faked: across both branches, parents have left us 463 Google reviews averaging 4.8–4.9 stars — one of the strongest review records of any swim school in Malaysia.
- 1Ara Damansara CampusSalt-water 20m heated indoor pool kept at a comfortable 32°C — gentle on young skin and warm enough for babies. Minutes from Kelana Jaya, Kota Damansara, Subang Airport corridor and the wider Petaling Jaya area. See the Ara Damansara branch →
- 2Puchong Jaya CampusHeated indoor pool with dedicated shallow teaching zones, changing rooms and a parents’ viewing area. Convenient for Bandar Puteri, Kinrara, Bukit Jalil and Subang Jaya families. See the Puchong branch →
One System From 6 Months Old to Adult
- Baby & Toddler (6–42 months) — our three-level baby program builds water confidence with a parent in the pool, in 30-minute classes designed around each age band.
- Kiddie Foundation (from ~3 years) — the first “parent stays dry” stage: breath control, floating, safe entry and exit, at a 1:3 ratio.
- Kids Learn to Swim (6–12 years) — Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels (each with Silver and Gold stages), 50-minute classes, beginner ratio capped at 1:4.
- Adult Classes (13+) — a full four-stroke syllabus in small groups of at most six, from absolute beginner to confident swimmer.
- How our learning system works — the stage-by-stage method behind every class above.
Not sure which level fits? That’s exactly what the free trial class is for — our coaches assess your child in the water and recommend the right starting point, with no obligation.
Which Branch Should Your Family Choose?
Here’s how Klang Valley families usually map to our two campuses. Both branches teach the identical SSI-based syllabus, so the honest answer is: choose whichever drive is easier.
Swimming classes near Kuala Lumpur (KL)
We don’t operate inside KL city centre — our Ara Damansara campus sits just across the KL–Selangor border, about 20–25 minutes from Mont Kiara, Sri Hartamas and Damansara Heights via the NKVE/LDP. Many KL families make the drive weekly because heated indoor pools with certified small-group teaching are genuinely hard to find in the city.
Petaling Jaya (PJ)
Ara Damansara is part of the wider PJ area — for families in Damansara Utama, SS2, Kelana Jaya or Tropicana, we’re often the nearest heated indoor option. More on swimming classes in PJ →
Kelana Jaya & Kota Damansara
Both are a short drive from the Ara Damansara campus — most families reach us in 10–15 minutes. Ara Damansara branch details →
Puchong
Our Puchong Jaya campus serves Bandar Puteri, Puchong Utama and Kinrara directly — it’s the branch we built for this side of the valley. Puchong branch details →
Subang Jaya & Sunway
USJ, SS15 and Sunway families split between our two campuses — Puchong Jaya is usually the quicker drive via the LDP. Many parents from these areas already make the weekly trip for our small-group classes.
Bukit Jalil & Sri Petaling
The Puchong campus is around 15–20 minutes away via the Bukit Jalil Highway — a common choice for families who want smaller classes than the big sports-complex programs nearby.
