Most children master basic water safety within 6 to 9 months. If that were all we offered, our job would be done in under a year. So we changed what we sell.
Our positioning is “Unlock Children’s Hidden Potential Through Swimming.” Swimming is how a child enters Skywhale. What they gain here — discipline, confidence, the habit of trying again after failing, friends who are not from their school — is the real value. That is why, beyond weekly lessons, we run holiday programmes, workshops and events that give children something meaningful to do and a community of their own.
We built this around two things parents told us again and again: “I don’t know how to fill the school holidays with something useful,” and “my child only socialises when I arrange it.” Every activity we run has to answer one of those two, and every one has to teach something — not just entertain.

Professional CoachEvery coach is an SSI-certified Swim Teacher, trained in-house through a four-stage pipeline — Theory, Observation, Practical, Attachment — with an exam at each stage. Our founder, JS Lee, is a former state-level competitive swimmer and a certified SSI Teacher Instructor, which means Skywhale is an officially recognised SSI Training Center that certifies its own teachers. Who We Teach
- Baby swimming class (6–42 months) — three age-based levels, one parent in the water
- Kiddie swimming class (3.5–6 years) — Foundation 1 and 2, 1:3 ratio, parent stays dry
- Learn to Swim (6–12 years) — Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced, each with Silver and Gold stages, leading to Pre-Competitive
- Adult swimming class (13+) — straight into the four strokes, 1:6
- Private 1-on-1 classes, weekdays, any age

What makes Skywhale different from other swimming academies near me?

Is Skywhale only for children?
No. Our positioning is child-focused because that is most of our families, but we teach adults from 13 years old and offer private 1-on-1 classes at any age.
Is Skywhale a recognised SSI Training Center?
Yes. All coaches are SSI-certified Swim Teachers, and the academy is certified as an SSI Training Center under the founder’s SSI Teacher Instructor qualification.
